Why would these posts get locked?, its a perfectly legitimate question.
The unpopulated connector is for testing the onboard antenna. It isn’t an external antenna connector.
OK thanks, I didn't realise that in lieu of a full set of schematics with associated design intent its not at all clear and one would assume that it was an alternative build option.
The certification is only valid with the onboard antenna. CM4 has an external antenna connector but using anything other than the Raspberry Pi supplied antenna means having to recertify it.
Any finished commercial product built around any module Raspberry or any other manufacturer would need re-certification if it were to be sold anyway, so I don't see what the problem is.
