You can get an additional 4KB of storage space, with some wiring. Indeed AIUI, the ID EEPROM part is a stand-alone circuit, with no direct connection to the RP2040 chip.I'm not sure what that ID Eeprom provides for. I thought it auto configured the Pi so it becomes plug-and-play but there still seems to be a lot of 'raspi-config' work to do to make the Build HAT work. I've never used a bona fide HAT or touched Device Trees so can't say.
