Is that really the best we can do - just give them some URL that's probably full of nonsense (as most URLs are) ?

Is that really a nice thing to do?

(Yes, I know of what I speak. Most of those support URLs for these FOSS projects are junk.)

I actually have a stake in this, because, as it happens, I was just about to start a thread about something LibreOffice related (unrelated to the current thread). Is this the kind of reception I can expect?

I would love to be able to discuss LO-related things here on this board.
It is as much as I know about LibreOffice. I imagine it's done/setup somewhere in it, instead of some file in the OS that is related to the OS itself. It might even be an file one can find in the OS, but if that is the case, I have no idea of where it would be, though I bet it's in ~/.local or ~/.config somewhere.

The site linked to would have been the first place I would have asked if I had been looking at the same issue, so it made sense for me to post it for the OP to check it out.

I do knot think there is anything wrong with that.

If others, including you, have other more helpful things to add to the conversation, by all means, go for it. I'm not here to stop you or anyone else from discussing anything.
