thanks, this is all really very fine, but none of it is exactly my point.
My point is that I can run a 2160p/x265 file from my local NAS over a 1GB network on bullseye (all current fixes applied) on VLC from the desktop in fullscreen without the slightest hitch.
I cannot do the same with the exact same parameters on Bookworm.
The files I tried to do this with are:
Horizon.An.American.Saga.Chapter.1.2024.Hybrid.2160p.WEB-DL.DV.HDR.DDP5.1.Atmos.H265-AOC and
Sugar (2024) - S01E03 - Shibuya Crossing HDTV-1080p x265 EAC3 Atmos - maybe you can find them on your own and compare.
I will try the Big Buck Bunny tomorrow but am doubtful whether I can reproduce the stuttering: After all digital animation always runs much smoother than "real" movies.
I'll let you know about the bunny.
