I'm sure you're right about being the minority here, but in terms of real world use of computing as a tool, not a learning experiment, who is in the minority?
Oh, and I'm fairly sure you can run photoshop on ARM. But you need a recent Mac to do so.
While canine computer users are definitely in the minority--significantly less than cats--I found a note in the dog house with an estimate.

From age 6 to around 19 most humans tend to be in school learning stuff with computers. On the other hand from 20 to 65 years in age they join the work force where less than half use computers after discounting mobile phones and microwave ovens since neither have a mouse, blinking lights nor tape drives spinning tapes.

Comparing 14 with 46*0.5=23 years suggests at any moment that

14/(14+23)=38 percent

of the people using computers are students.

It looks like a pretty big minority but I think Fido forgot something. Technology changes so fast that anyone in the workforce is perpetually a learner trying to keep up with the changes in Windows, Linux and everything else.

In other news, only a long time ago was Linux a hobby operating system with no commercially supported software. For example, SAP HANA is today a successful commercial software.

There are lots of other examples.
