well, if you prefer to follow 'some references' instead of https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... config-txt don't be surprised when things don't work as expectedYes, I made changes in /boot/firmware/config.txt but in some places /boot/config.txt was used as a reference so I have also followed that reference while posting. Anyhow there will be only one config.txt regardless of its directory.overlays wil have to go into boot/firmware/overlays..
So, to interface the max98090 audio codec to RPi4, I have to write my own .dts file and compile it into a .dtbo file to include in /boot/overlays/.
changes to config.txt will have to be made in boot/firmware/config.txt
