Other • Re: Windows ARM64 release?

I actually thought when RPL IPOed that Microsoft might buy into them and pay RPL or a third party to do the porting, but at the moment MSoft have bigger priorities with the AI revolution. They've done this in the past though so maybe in the future.
Indeed I almost forgot that they bought the whole terminal part of Nokia, but who uses Windows phone nowadays? It was good and solid on Qcom Snapdragon I understood (and killed/stopped STM business). BCM SoCs are simply under-powered for full-fledged Windows experience. The 4-core Cortex-A76 is OK I guess, but that isn't a whole computer nowadays. See die pictures of for example Apple silicon. Also note what you can buy in terms of NMVE SSD. It is PCIe-4 4-lane or so. Not single lane 2.x.

I wasn't aware that Windows11 is 'free'. At least the price of Windows has gone down a lot in the past decade or 2. I paid 20 euros for a digital license for Windows10 (a virtual machine), my N100 with Windows11 pre-installed costed 152 euros. I did shrink it a put Linux in other partitions, but still wonder how can it be that cheap. I have been registered with Insider program but the emails felt like spam at some point in time and I wasn't using Windows10 anymore on a regular basis.
