It mounts what is in initramfs/initrd and/or fstab, is generic Linux not specific Pi4 boot.
Thank you so much redvli !
and what initiate this mount ? The kernel ? the config.txt in the 1st FAT formatted partition ?
I've asked an A.I and here the answer, is that correct ?

The Pi4 EEPROM code will load config.txt from the 1st FAT formatted partition. And start4.elf and fixup4.dat.
Based on what is in config.txt, it will take further action. We don't know what is in your files on your storage devices.
I have this line in the config.txt

Code:

nitramfs initrd.gz followkernel

The usual reason is that Devuan does not use systemd.
A philosophical argument that means people in this case get a worse experience. These people need to go full Frozen, and Let it go. Pragmatism rules.
I don't think, not accepting systemd is just philosophical ! and plz let not mix
Pragmatism and social/mass conformity.
for a starter

But please let's not deviate from my topic !
If you prefer systemd @jamesh that's great ! that what Linux is about: Freedom !
and If you want to discuss further I'll open a public Topic on it, let me know.
Absolutely no interest is discussing it at all. I am completely happy with Systemd, it's what we use on PiOS, which we get from the rather well known and respected Debian. It works fine. Raspberry Pi OS is the OS with the biggest following, with the largest user base, gets all the latest bug fixes and is what we do all our dev work on so gets the greatest support here. All the other distros lag behind to some extent, some by a LONG way. To take one of these OSs instead, because of some misplaced misgivings about a perfectly operable init system just strikes me as the complete opposite of pragmatic. But of course, we would never force people to use our OS, choice is choice. However, we can recommend it.

Anyway, I hope someone here can help you with your problem.
