Raspberry Pi 400 and 500 • Re: Can I make a dvd player using a external disc drive connected to a RPI 400?

I have a external disc drive out of a Xbox 360 Slim, which I'm planning to connect to my RPI 400, so I hopefully can make a dvd player out of it. My plan is to connect the disc drive to the RPI 400 and connect this through HDMI to my tv. Since I have no remote control for my RPI I have in mind to use the keyboard for this.

Is it possible to do this? Can I make a dvd player this way? Do I need to purchase a MPEG-2 license for this? Does anyone have experience?
