I have no visibility of this, but I would suspect cost. IIRC, the PMIC does not support >5v so we would need a new one of those, and that's not a cheap business.I was slightly surprised that higher voltage PD wasn't supported on the Pi 500 with all that lovely board space.FWIW, the long term solution, at least as I see it, would be for RPL to support all of the standard PD voltages instead of just 5v on the next generation. But that likely adds cost, complexity, and needs more board space.
