Depends on what you're doing. I originally got Pis to act a terminal emulators. The Pi1B worked just fine doing that, and at $35, it was a far less expensive system than even the lowest cost PC.Here's why I think it's a stupid idea:
It's a really really bad PC. It can be used, I guess, as a really really bad microcontroller.
Then don't use them. Personally, I use Pis where their hardware fits the requirements. I don't expect Pis to be a universal panacea, but then...I don't consider PCs to be that, either. With Pi5s, that covers a lot of uses.Never got the hype about Raspberry Pi, never cared for it, still don't.
