I just tried writing the Raspberry Pi OS Lite - 32 Bit version to a microSD card. I am using Raspberry Pi Imager v.1.8.5.
I set up hostname, username password, etc before writing the image.
I booted the image in my Raspberry Pi 2 Model B. Waited for it to finish rebooting after the file system resize etc.
Waited until the IP address was set. I am using WiFi and for the time to sychronise.
Then ran:
I experienced no problems with the update or upgrade. I didn't time it, but the computers uptime was 15 minutes once the full upgrade had completed.
