Thank you for explanation.
I understand that it has to be a Global Shutter camera to achieve such high speeds.
Yes.
But there are several Global Shutter cameras for PI, such as
IMX296 : https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/ra ... er-camera/
OV2311 https://www.arducam.com/product/arducam ... pivariety/
I meant the first, the Raspberry GS camera.
Also, did you try using some global shutter USB cameras with PI, such as these:
https://www.arducam.com/product-categor ... r-cameras/
No, never tried USB global shutter cameras.

I used Arducam ov7251 monochrome CSI global shutter camera for my rascatbot.
After seeing that any rolling shutter camera is impossible to use on fast driving robot:

Here from 320x240@204fps robot braking video:

And Arducam ov9281 (1200x800 monochrome global shutter) for capturing airsoft pistol pellets inflight in sunlight:

Since Raspberry GS camera is available, I only use that because of the cool high framerates:

"imx708 is not a global shutter"
Right, thank you for clarification. I fixed my post.
But I see it being mentioned a lot in the posts above. What was the max fps achievable with imx708?
Sorry, that was my fault.
Until this posting in current thread I worked on GScrop tool for GS camera:
viewtopic.php?t=345883#p2092558

Then there are several posting where I did binary patch imx708.ko kernel driver to make v3 camera allow for high framerates as well.

I was asked by @6by9 to stop that and not publish in this posting:
viewtopic.php?t=349316#p2095102
And in another posting I cannot find right now with more harsh words.
Since then I completely stopped working on V3crop, work only on GScrop.
