could just be a display problem.
- remove the SD card, power up, you should get the diagnostic screen. play attention to the DISPLAY line. does it say EDID=OK?
- what HDMI cable are you using? are you using an adapter? (adapters are generally bad. better to use the proper cable)
- what kind of display? (make and model)
oh yea... do not remove the SD card while the system is running. likely will corrupt the file syayem
