The tty does show on composite. However, I do not see any camera preview from `rpicam-vid`, just the frame counter text output. I tried options like fullscreen and manually setting preview dimensions. Fresh installation of Pi OS Lite on Pi 5 with official Global Shutter camera. The preview was working on a previous desktop install.Open /boot/firmware/config.txt, find the line "dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d" and change it to "dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,composite". Reboot. This should have disabled the HDMI output and enabled the composite video out. (I vaguely recall there is an option in raspi-config to achieve the same change).
All rpicam-* (or libcamera-* on older systems) apps should now render to the composite output via the DRM renderer (I'm assuming you're not booting into X11 or other windowing environment).
