And what's in between the 2 pis? Trees? Walls, buildings, anything else?

We also need to know how much data needs to be sent back and forth. That bandwidth can will either dictate how you can or can't set this up.

My project requires the Pis to be in 2 different neighbourhood and moving around perhaps around a track and the data it will be sending is from a gps module which will be coded to get the speed that the pi is moving. This data will then be transmit to the other Pi in real time to display the speed of the other Pi.
