Adding a USB hub may generate even more noise. Rather than extending the distance from the Pi to the SSD using a hub, I'd try a well-shielded high-quality USB3 extension cable.I do not understand. Any motherboard can easily be affected by this. USB-3 seems like a failed concept from the very start. You either use everything cabled and disable wifi and bluetooth, or not use usb-3 at all. How is it even possible to get a physical seperation, one end of the cable will eventually end up in one of the USB-3 ports on the motherboard. There is no way to put any distance even if you want to. Now that i think about it, even if you get a dongle for bluetooth, it will also be affected.I don't have a current'ish mini PC so can't directly confirm. However the USB-3 interference issue is a known issue with many compact form factor machines where you cannot get physical separation between the point sources.
USB-2 is good enough for me. The only thing i wonder is that if those "mini PCs" suffer from the same usb-3 interference issues. Somebody should also include this in a comparison with the Pi 5. This was also an issue with Pi-4.
