Troubleshooting • Re: Releasing swap memory to prevent system reboot

I don't get it, why bother?
Swap is unused memory, it swaps to make more room in RAM
Using lots of swaps can slow down your system
It is not a question of getting bigger swap,

But it turns out I might have picked on the obvious, and avoided the problem, as during the first day after the boot up no swap is used, after a few days lots of swap is used after a week there is no swap free memory, that is when the system freezes up and the only thing I can do is the reboot the raspberry pi, with either reboot / button of unplugging the power and reconnecting the power pack

Now I am thinking I need to focus on clearing out the buffer / cache and leave the swap along with the
sudo dphys-swapfile swapoff ; sudo dphys-swapfile swapon
terminal command
