Something just occurred to me, Don't people use Pi's as weather stations? there must be a way to "cold proof" them. My only guess is that the sensors are outside, and the pi is inside the house.
May be there is a solution to cool proof (if this is really annoying: this puzzles me): one can use Pi CPU to generate heat if CPU temperature is below -20 C/ -15C (there are softwares called benchmarks who do that : a loop and "disk" read can be enough).... RPi can be 30/40 C hotter than ambient temperature -if they go further 80C, OS makes CPU clock slow. : excessive heath is not an issue-..
Remain batteries (can freeze...)
